Metro 2033 is a 2010 first-person shooter and survival horror video game developed by 4A Games and published by THQ. Based on the internationally bestselling novel of the same name by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, the game transports players to the grim, claustrophobic tunnels of a post-apocalyptic Moscow. - Gas Mask and Filters: Exploring the highly irradiated surface of Moscow or toxic areas of the metro requires a gas mask. Players must actively scavenge for degradable air filters and monitor the countdown on Artyom’s wristwatch. Metro 2033 was the debut title for 4A Games, a studio founded in Kyiv, Ukraine, by former developers of GSC Game World who had previously worked on the acclaimed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.
