Community Guidelines

SaveGameVault is a community hub for gamers who love to share save files, mods, and discuss games. These guidelines define what we expect from everyone who participates in discussions, writes reviews, or comments on the Site.

By posting on SaveGameVault, you agree to these guidelines.

1. Be Respectful

Treat other users the way you’d want to be treated. Disagreement is fine — disrespect is not.

✅ Welcome:

• Sharing opinions, even unpopular ones
• Constructive criticism of games or mods
• Pointing out inaccuracies politely

❌ Not welcome:

• Personal attacks, insults, name-calling
• Harassment, stalking, doxxing
• Hate speech based on race, gender, religion, sexuality, nationality, or disability
• Threats of any kind

2. Keep It On-Topic

Comments should be relevant to the game, save file, mod, or article you’re commenting on.

✅ Good: “This save worked perfectly on Steam version 1.03, thanks!” ❌ Bad: “Check out my Twitch channel 👉🔗 …”

3. No Spam or Self-Promotion

• No links to your own blog, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, or social media unless directly relevant to the discussion
• No affiliate links
• No “first!” comments or meaningless reactions
• No identical comments posted across multiple threads
• No advertising products or services

4. Review Guidelines

When writing a user review for a game:

✅ Do:

• Share your genuine experience with the game
• Mention specific features you liked or disliked
• Compare to similar games if relevant
• Keep it civil even for games you hate

❌ Don’t:

• Post joke reviews, meme reviews, or review bombs
• Review a game you haven’t played
• Post the same review on multiple games
• Discuss the developer’s personal life or politics unrelated to the game

We may remove reviews that violate these rules.

5. Mature Content

Do not post:

• Pornographic, sexually explicit, or fetish content
• Graphic violence or gore beyond what’s relevant to discussing a game
• Content involving minors in any inappropriate context

Even when discussing M-rated games, keep the discussion reasonable.

6. Illegal Content

Absolutely prohibited:

• Piracy, cracks, keygens, torrents, or serial numbers
• Instructions for circumventing DRM
• Hacked accounts or stolen keys
• Content that violates copyright (post your own words, not paragraphs copied from reviews)

7. Privacy of Others

• Do not share anyone’s personal information (real name, address, phone, email, account details)
• Do not post screenshots that reveal others’ private data
• Do not impersonate developers, press, or other users

8. Language

English is the primary language of the Site. Comments in other languages are allowed but may be harder for other users to engage with. Translations are welcome when helpful.

9. Technical Rules

• One account per person. Multiple accounts may be banned together.
• Do not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to post comments or submit content
• Do not attempt to exploit or reverse-engineer the Site

10. Moderation

We reserve the right to:

• Remove comments that violate these guidelines
• Edit comments (rare — usually only to fix obvious issues)
• Suspend or ban accounts, either temporarily or permanently
• Not provide explanations for moderation decisions, though we usually will

Strikes and Bans

• First offense: comment removed, warning sent
• Second offense: temporary suspension (7 days)
• Third offense: permanent ban

Serious violations (hate speech, illegal content, harassment, doxxing) may result in immediate permanent ban without warning.

11. Reporting

See a violation? You can:

• Contact us directly: contact@savegamevault.com
• Include the URL of the offending content and a brief description

We review reports as quickly as possible, usually within 48 hours.

12. Appeals

If you believe your comment was removed or your account was suspended in error, email contact@savegamevault.com with:

• Your username
• Description of the situation
• Any relevant context

We’ll review and respond in good faith.

13. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will be announced. Your continued participation constitutes acceptance.

TL;DR: Be respectful, stay on-topic, don’t spam, don’t break the law. Thanks for being part of the community!
