Xbox is stepping onto the Tokyo Game Show 2026 stage on September 17, with its presentation scheduled for noon Paris time. The showcase carries extra weight this year as the company marks 25 years in the gaming industry, and fans are expecting new gameplay footage, announcements, and at least a few surprises along the way.

What to Expect From the Presentation

According to Xboxygen, the event will be hosted by Misuzu Araki and will feature never-before-seen gameplay sequences alongside exclusive content tied to titles coming to the platform this year. Viewers can catch the stream on the official Tokyo Game Show YouTube channel and Xbox social media accounts.

A Milestone Year for Xbox in Asia

Beyond the 25th anniversary of the brand itself, Xboxygen notes that this edition also marks 20 years of Xbox presence in Japan. Mena Kato, the company’s general manager for the Asia region, highlighted the growing number of Japanese and Asian developers and publishing partners working with Xbox, calling the region a key creative driver for the platform.

Forza Horizon 6 and Kojima’s OD Among the Speculation

Last year’s Tokyo Game Show served as the launchpad for the announcement of Forza Horizon 6, and Xboxygen reports that this year’s event could be the moment Xbox confirms a PS5 release date for the racer, potentially alongside news of its first DLC.

The other major talking point heading into the show is Hideo Kojima. The relationship between Xbox and Kojima Productions has grown noticeably closer, partly due to Xbox stepping in to rescue PHYSINT after PlayStation Studios dropped the project. The two are already collaborating on the horror title OD, and their work has expanded into film and television. Whether OD gets any kind of formal spotlight at this Japanese showcase remains to be seen, but the conditions are clearly there for some kind of update.
