Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Quietly Adds Witcher 3 Items
CD Projekt Red has quietly tucked a batch of The Witcher 3-themed items into Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.5, and most players had no idea they were there. Community members digging through the update discovered weapons and cosmetics that pull directly from the studio’s other flagship franchise, turning V’s Night City apartment into an unexpected treasure chest of Witcher gear.
What Was Added
According to Insider Gaming, community members @vinalxo and @SynthPotato were the first to surface the hidden content. The list of discovered items includes:
- Sihil sword
- Professor Spectacles
- Ursine Jacket
- Ursine Pants
- Boar Carver Boots
- Witcher T-Shirt
- A trophy-collecting knife similar to one used by Geralt in The Witcher 3
IGN also confirmed the addition of the Sihil sword and the cosmetics, noting that the items arrived without any formal announcement from CD Projekt Red.
How to Get the Items
Getting your hands on the gear does not require any elaborate side quest. As reported by Insider Gaming, a character named Arianne sends V a text message about a gift after the update is installed. Players can then head to V’s apartment to collect all the available Witcher items waiting there. The process is straightforward once you know to look for the message.
What It Could Signal
CD Projekt Red has form when it comes to bridging Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher universe with small callbacks and references, but this update represents a more substantial crossover than a background easter egg. Insider Gaming suggests Update 2.5 could serve as a final content send-off for Cyberpunk 2077, and the timing is notable. The Witcher 3 has an upcoming expansion called Songs of the Past in the pipeline, and The Witcher 4 is also in active development. Slipping Witcher-branded items into Night City feels like a deliberate way to keep both franchises connected in players’ minds heading into what is shaping up to be a significant period for CDPR’s catalog.
Whether or not Update 2.5 marks the end of active support for Cyberpunk 2077, the hidden additions show the studio is still finding creative ways to reward players who keep returning to the game.
