Citizen Sleeper and ROBOBEAT Are Free on Epic Games Store — Claim Before June 25
Two genuinely excellent games are free on the Epic Games Store right now. Citizen Sleeper — one of the most acclaimed indie RPGs of 2022 — and ROBOBEAT — a rhythm-based FPS roguelite with a cult following — are both available at no cost until June 25, 2026 at 11 AM EDT / 5 PM CET. After that, they revert to their regular prices. Miss the deadline and you’re paying.
The pair marks the 35th and 36th free titles distributed through Epic’s ongoing weekly giveaway programme in 2026. Neither game has been offered on EGS for free before, making this the first and possibly only time to add them to your library without spending a cent.
⏱ How to Claim — Before the Timer Runs Out
Claiming is quick and the games stay in your library permanently, even if you don’t install them immediately:
- Open the Epic Games Store free games page (or launch the Epic Games Launcher on your PC).
- Find Citizen Sleeper or ROBOBEAT — both are highlighted on the storefront.
- Click “Get” and proceed through the zero-cost checkout.
- Repeat for the second game.
That’s it. Both titles will appear permanently in your library. You have until June 25, 2026 at 11 AM EDT / 8 AM PDT / 5 PM CET to claim them. After that deadline, they return to their regular $19.99 prices each.
Worth noting: Epic’s mobile app (Android and iOS) also supports the weekly giveaway — you can claim both games from your phone if you’re not near a PC right now.
Citizen Sleeper — Roleplaying in the Ruins of Interplanetary Capitalism
Developer: Jump Over the Age (Gareth Damian Martin) | Publisher: Fellow Traveller | Released: May 5, 2022 | Regular price: $19.99
Citizen Sleeper is a narrative RPG set on Erlin’s Eye, a decaying space station at the fringe of interstellar society. You play as a Sleeper — a digitised human consciousness transplanted into an artificial body — who has escaped from the corporation that owns you. Your body is degrading. The company wants you back. And you’re stranded among thousands of strangers, all trying to survive on the edge of a collapsing capitalist society.
Mechanically, the game draws directly from tabletop RPGs: each in-game “cycle” (day), you roll a set of dice and assign them to actions — working a shift, building a relationship, investigating the station’s secrets, managing your deteriorating health. High rolls open up possibilities; low rolls narrow them. It’s tense, thoughtful, and deeply character-driven.
The version available on Epic includes all three post-launch DLC episodes: FLUX, REFUGE, and PURGE — a late-game expansion storyline that adds new characters, locations, and lore. This is the complete edition of the game, not a stripped-down version.
Citizen Sleeper holds an 82 on Metacritic, an “Mighty” rating on OpenCritic, and a 4.7-star score in the Epic Games Store. It was nominated for Game of the Year at the Game Developers Choice Awards, RPG of the Year at the DICE Awards, and received four BAFTA nominations. Gareth Damian Martin — a solo developer — built the entire game alone.
If you want more after finishing it, a sequel exists: Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector is available on Steam, currently at its steepest discount ever (50% off as of its 4th anniversary celebrations).
ROBOBEAT — Shoot to the Beat or Die Trying
Developer: Simon Fredholm / Inzanity | Publisher: Kwalee | Released: May 14, 2024 | Regular price: $19.99
ROBOBEAT is the polar opposite of Citizen Sleeper in almost every way — and that’s precisely what makes the pairing work. You play as Ace, a bounty hunter sent to capture a rogue robot showman named Frazzer, who has turned his ever-shifting arena into a death trap filled with mechanical soldiers.
The core mechanic: everything must be done to the beat. Perfectly timed shots deal significantly more damage. Off-beat attacks barely register. The reticle pulses with the music, guiding your timing. Miss the rhythm, and combat falls apart. Land it, and the game becomes a kinetic, almost musical flow state.
Layered on top is a full movement system — wall-running, sliding, double jumps, rail-grinding, and a grappling hook — plus roguelite progression, procedurally generated arenas, and more than 50 weapons ranging from standard revolvers and shotguns to genuinely bizarre options. The standout feature: a built-in custom music editor that lets you upload your own tracks and have the game auto-generate beat maps for them, so you can play to literally any song in your library.
ROBOBEAT is also available on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, though the Epic giveaway covers only the PC version.
It holds an 83 on Metacritic and a 94% positive rating from over 1,600 Steam user reviews — a number that has held remarkably stable since launch. Also a solo-developer project, built by Swedish developer Simon Fredholm.

One thing worth noting for Citizen Sleeper fans: the free Epic version does not include the standalone sequel, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, which is a separate game. You get the original plus all three DLC episodes — that’s the complete experience for the first game.
Next Week’s Free Games: Don’t Forget to Check Back
Epic has already confirmed what replaces these two on June 25:
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition — the classic theme park simulator, complete with two major expansion packs (Soaked! and Wild!). A bona fide nostalgia hit.
- Voidwrought — a Metroidvania with strong reviews, drawing comparisons to Hollow Knight in its atmosphere and movement design.
Both will be claimable from June 25 to July 2, 2026. Same process — add them to your library by the deadline and they’re yours permanently.
