Xbox Game Pass September Wave 2: 14 Games, 4 Day One Launches

Microsoft has detailed the second September 2026 wave for Xbox Game Pass: 14 titles between September 15 and October 6, four of them arriving on Game Pass the day they launch. The headline number is smaller than it looks. Eight of the 14 are already in the Ultimate and PC Game Pass library and are only now reaching the mid-tier Game Pass Premium, so Ultimate and PC subscribers get six new games out of this wave.

Four Day One launches

Gears of War: E-Day closes the wave on October 6 and is the biggest first-party release of the fall. The prequel puts Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago on Emergence Day, 14 years before the original Gears of War, and lands on Xbox Series X|S, handheld, PC and cloud. Minecraft Dungeons II follows the same route a week earlier on September 29. The other two Day One entries are smaller: Kernel Hearts, an action RPG roguelike with optional co-op (September 17), and Well Dweller, a dark fairy-tale metroidvania (September 22). All four are Ultimate and PC Game Pass only, as Premium does not receive day-one releases.

New to the library

Dune: Awakening arrives on September 22 across Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. Funcom’s survival MMO has been out on PC since June 2025, so this is its console debut and the biggest third-party pickup of the wave. Mad King Redemption, a 2.5D beat ’em up with roguelite progression, joins all three tiers on September 23. RuneScape: Dragonwilds, the co-op survival game, is already available on all three tiers as of September 15.

Eight titles joining Game Pass Premium

The rest of the wave is a catch-up for Premium subscribers. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been on Ultimate and PC Game Pass since its launch in October 2024 and reaches Premium on September 25. Note that Activision requires a Game Pass Essential subscription on top of Premium to play Multiplayer and Zombies online. Ninja Gaiden 4 (September 17) and Keeper (October 2), both day-one Game Pass releases from October 2025, follow the same path. Keeper also launches on PlayStation 5 on October 2. The remaining Premium additions land on September 16: Marvel Cosmic Invasion, Planet of Lana II, Routine and Ultimate Sheep Raccoon.
