Blizzard Entertainment used BlizzCon 2026 in Anaheim, California to announce that the Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on September 15, 2026, with a Japanese release following on September 16. The bundle will ship with Japanese language support, according to 4Gamer.

What Is in the Collection

The Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred Collection is an all-in-one package that bundles the base game with two major expansions released since launch: Vessel of Hatred and the King of Hatred. New players who pick up the package on day one will have immediate access to all added content, including the Spiritborn class and the large new regions introduced by both expansions. Diablo IV itself launched in 2023 as a live-service hack-and-slash action RPG, marking the first entry in the franchise to use an open-world structure, 4Gamer reports.

Cross-Play and Cross-Progression Included

The Nintendo Switch 2 version supports cross-play and cross-progression with other platforms. Players who have been progressing through Sanctuary on PC or another platform can carry their save data over and continue on Switch 2, whether at home or on the go. The game will be distributed as a code-in-box, and players will need an internet connection and a Battle.net account to play.

At BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard showed a playable demo of the title running on Nintendo Switch 2 hardware. 4Gamer notes that attendees at the show responded positively to the graphics quality and responsiveness of the portable build in handheld mode.

A Natural Fit for Nintendo Hardware

The Diablo series has a track record on Nintendo platforms. Both Diablo III and Diablo II: Resurrected were previously ported to Nintendo Switch with success, which helped build expectations that the franchise would eventually arrive on Switch 2 as well. This release represents the first time a live-service Diablo title has come to a Nintendo handheld, a notable step for the franchise.
