Rayman Legends Retold Delayed to December 2026

Ubisoft has delayed Rayman Legends Retold by roughly two months, shifting the PS5 remake from its original October 1, 2026 release date to December 3, 2026, even though the game had already gone gold prior to the announcement.

A Rare Post-Gold Delay

Going gold typically signals that a game is complete and ready for manufacturing, making a delay at that stage highly unusual. As Push Square notes, the last high-profile example of a post-gold delay was the lead-up to Cyberpunk 2077. Ubisoft offered a brief explanation for the decision: “While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves.” To soften the blow for fans, the publisher plans to release an overview trailer along with content creator and press impressions during the wait.

What Happens to Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition?

The delay creates some uncertainty around a companion release. Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition, a remaster of the PS3 title, had been scheduled to launch on the same day as Rayman Legends Retold and was set to be bundled with all pre-orders of the remake. Ubisoft has not confirmed whether Origins Enhanced Edition has also been pushed back or whether it will be made available as a standalone purchase, according to Push Square. A Crowded Holiday Window

The new December 3 date plants Rayman Legends Retold firmly in the holiday shopping season, a period that tends to favor family-friendly titles. The game is also now available on Xbox Game Pass Essential, with Pure Xbox reporting that it was among two titles suddenly added to the subscription service. Whether the extra development time translates into a cleaner launch than the game’s gold status might have suggested remains to be seen, but Ubisoft appears committed to delivering a more polished product when December arrives.
