Publisher Super Rare Originals and developer Pixel Reign have announced that Moros Protocol, their science-fiction roguelite first-person shooter, will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 on October 1, according to Gematsu. The game originally launched on PC via Steam and GOG on September 18, 2025.

A Derelict Ship, Endless Horrors

Moros Protocol drops players aboard The Orpheus, a warship adrift in deep space and overrun with hostile creatures. The setup is deliberately sparse: the player character wakes with no memory, guided only by an unknown voice, and must fight through blood-soaked corridors to piece together what happened. The game leans into a low-poly visual style paired with crunchy pixel textures, aiming for a decayed sci-fi atmosphere reinforced by dynamic lighting and eerie sound design.

Combat draws from classic 1990s and early 2000s first-person shooters, while roguelite structure and Soulslike boss encounters layer additional complexity on top. Players can kick enemies in addition to using firearms, and the loadout system lets augments and weapons shape a run’s overall playstyle rather than locking players into fixed builds.

Procedural Runs and Co-Op Support

Each run through The Orpheus combines handcrafted environments with procedural generation, so layouts and threats shift between attempts. Death feeds progression rather than ending it, with upgrades carrying knowledge forward into subsequent runs. The game also supports drop-in cooperative play, letting a second player join and experience the full campaign alongside the first.

More Console Releases on the Horizon

Moros Protocol is not the only title making its way to current and previous-generation hardware. As Gematsu also reports, Villion: Code is set to reach western markets in 2027 across PS5, Switch 2, PS4, Switch, and PC, suggesting a steady pipeline of multiplatform releases ahead for genre fans.

A consoles announce trailer for Moros Protocol has been released alongside the news for players wanting a closer look before the October 1 launch.
