Summer Game Fest 2026 delivered one of its most stacked showcases yet — from the Final Fantasy VII trilogy finale to a new Alien: Isolation, a surprise Cuphead sequel, and over 30 game reveals. Here’s everything that happened.

Event Date, Time, and Location

Summer Game Fest Live 2026 aired on Friday, June 5, 2026, kicking off at 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET / 10:00 PM BST from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California — the same iconic venue that hosts the Academy Awards.

The showcase ran for approximately two hours and featured a mix of live stage presentations, pre-recorded trailers, developer interviews, and surprise reveals. The event was followed immediately by Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition, which spotlighted indie games.

The Summer Game Fest 2026 livestream was broadcast in 4K at 60fps across multiple platforms simultaneously:

YouTube (official 4K stream)
• Twitch
• X (Twitter)
• Steam

Replays of the full showcase and individual trailers are available on the official Summer Game Fest YouTube channel.

Game Reveals

The 2026 showcase was packed with over 30 announcements. Here’s every major reveal, in detail.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation

The biggest mic-drop of the night came at the very end. Final Fantasy VII Revelation is the third and final installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, following Remake (2020) and Rebirth (2024). Square Enix confirmed the game will feature an airship — a fan-favorite element from the original — along with a new job system that adds fresh strategic depth to combat.

In a historic move for the franchise, Revelation will launch simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027. The simultaneous multiplatform launch marks a significant shift from the PlayStation-first strategy used for Remake and Rebirth.

Resident Evil Veronica

Capcom revealed a full remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica, now simply titled Resident Evil Veronica. Claire Redfield returns as the protagonist in what appears to be a ground-up reimagining in the RE Engine, following the successful remakes of RE2, RE3, and RE4.

Release date: February 27, 2027
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2

The Wolf Among Us 2

After years of uncertainty following Telltale’s original closure and revival, The Wolf Among Us 2 finally re-debuted with a new trailer and a confirmed 2027 release date. The narrative adventure sequel continues the story of Bigby Wolf in Fabletown. A remaster of the original Wolf Among Us is also expected this holiday season.

Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly returned to the Alien franchise with the first gameplay reveal of Alien: Isolation 2. The sequel expands beyond the claustrophobic corridors of the original — this time, environments include both interior station areas and exterior colony settings. The footage showed improved AI for the Xenomorph and a broader scope.

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Switch 2
Release date: TBA

Star Wars: Zero Company

A completely new Star Wars game was revealed: Star Wars: Zero Company, a turn-based tactics title in the vein of XCOM. Set during the final days of the Clone Wars, players command a squad through strategic, grid-based combat. The announcement was a surprise — no leaks had hinted at its existence.

Cuphead Sequel and Mighty Cuphead Adventure

Studio MDHR dropped a double announcement. A full Cuphead sequel is in active development, continuing the hand-drawn, run-and-gun boss-rush formula that made the original a hit. Separately, the studio revealed Mighty Cuphead Adventure, a pixel-art platform shooter that takes the franchise in a visually different direction — think retro NES-era aesthetic applied to Cuphead’s world.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco showcased a new trailer for The Blood of Dawnwalker, the dark fantasy open-world action RPG from the former CD Projekt RED developers behind The Witcher 3. The trailer revealed more of the game’s vampire-centric narrative and teased the future of the broader Dawnwalker Saga.

Release date: September 3, 2026
Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC

Lords of the Fallen 2

CI Games unveiled a new trailer for Lords of the Fallen 2, the sequel to their 2023 soulslike. The dark fantasy action RPG is set a thousand years after the first game’s events and confirmed a simultaneous Steam launch alongside console versions.
